Neighborhood

Los Gatos

Located just off state Route 17 at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Los Gatos offers convenient access to Silicon Valley but is also less than 25 miles away from the Pacific Ocean. The town of 30,000 is quite affluent, with a median household income of $222,000, according to 2013 United States Census Bureau data. Forbes ranked Los Gatos 50th on its list of America’s Most Expensive ZIP Codes, with a median home price of $3,414,572. Of the 13,050 housing units available in the town, 64 percent were owner occupied.
Many of Los Gatos’ businesses, restaurants, and shops are located along Los Gatos Boulevard. Online streaming and movie-rental business Netflix is also headquartered in the city. Los Gatos attracts families thanks to its highly ranked schools. Both school districts that serve the city scored above 900 of a possible 1,000 on the state’s Academic Performance Index.

Town not City

Originally a weekend get-a-way for San Franciscans, the vibrant Town of Los Gatos remains one of the most charming destinations in the Bay Area. While close enough to the heart of Silicon Valley, the town of Los Gatos is tucked just far enough away to feel a little less busy, less stressful, and smaller. Believe it or not, it really is still a place where the local restaurant owners will know your name and you will run into friends wherever you go. Coveted for the Americana feel we all love from the past coupled with the flare of a Hollywood hit. Where else can you cruise the nearly one street downtown strip to see a combination of historic buildings, chic boutiques, kids running on their own, the occasional Maserati and flip flops.
